Most of the time I make photo displays with Graphic 45 papers because they are so inspirational, but I love also making mini albums and traveller’s notebook mini albums.
Today I would like to show you this traveller’s mini-album featuring the Graphic 45 Cottage Life collection, with a handmade leather cover.
When I first saw the Graphic 45 Cottage Life collection, I know I will love to make a mini album or a set of notebooks with that, the colours are beautiful and I would like to bring it in my bag for taking notes for meetings.
I’ve made four books with six pieces of pattern paper from the collection pack, by cutting half at six inches, so all the books are 6in x 6in. I added also a few sheets of vellum paper, and two sheets of vanilla colour cardstock which are included with other Patterns & Solids paper pads from Graphic 45, as pages.
For the cover of the books, I first painted with a thin layer of gesso (or you can use white acrylic paint) on the place where I would like to have decorations, so that the decorations can be shown up from the background. I mainly included the Graphic 45 Cottage Life stickers and assortment pieces on the book covers, with one Graphic 45 Decorative Hardware each. I used some of the paper flowers and burlap flags from my stash too.
This is the first time I made such kind of leather cover, and sew the books on it as well. It’s quite difficult for me as I didn’t learn how to make leather goods in a proper way, every time I wanted to make something, I tried myself or I searched for video tutorials online, but this mini-album comes out looking good.
